Headache is a common complaint in daily lives that can cause discomfort by affecting a person’s ability to perform normal day-to-day activities. These headaches may result in non-emergency conditions like allergies and sinusitis. But in few cases, they can be a symptom of many underlying causes such as migraine, vertigo, and sinusitis. There are different headaches, including migraine headaches, cluster headache, tension headache, ice-pricking headache, cariogenic headache, sinus headache, hypertension headache, and pregnancy headache. Diagnosis of the headache mainly depends on the affected area. Over-treatment or under-treatment of the headache can lead to complications, including gastric and neurological problems, organ damage, and medication dependency.

The headache department at UMMC offers personalized care to patients with headache and facial pain disorders. This department works closely along with the neurology department to improve the patient’s quality of life. Our department provides comprehensive medical diagnosis and treatment for different types of headaches.
