GENERAL SURGERY

General surgery is a speciality that deals with the management and surgery of abdominal organs such as the stomach, oesophagus, small intestine, gall bladder, colon, appendix, liver, thyroid glands, pancreas, and bile ducts. Other than the conditions affecting the abdominal region, surgery also deals with other problems that primarily affect other organs like skin, breast, soft tissue etc. Surgery helps remove the affected parts and help the body generate new and healthy cells while recovering. It also involves corrective surgery for peripheral vascular surgery, hernia, trauma and endoscopic procedures.

This department is responsible for pre-operative, operative and post-operative management of the patient. It offers surgery for appendicitis, hernia, removal of gallbladder, tumours, and thyroid.
