The Department of Orthopaedics at UMMC offers a wide range of service, including total hip and shoulder replacement surgeries, knee replacement, knee arthroscopy repair of both menisci, knee arthroscopy and meniscectomy, repair of rotator cuff tendon, repair fracture of radium and ulna, removal of support implant, repair of trochanteric fracture, repair of a femoral neck fracture, shoulder arthroscopy and decompression, and a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions.
We have fully equipped operation theatres, intensive care units, and rehabilitation services. The hospital also has the latest imaging facilities for prompt screening. Our orthopaedic doctors and surgeons are highly qualified and skilled and offer excellent outcomes to patients. The orthopaedic surgeons deal with the diagnosis of the disorder or injury, prescribing treatment, rehabilitation with physical therapy to restore function, movement, and strength and preventing further damage. Some musculoskeletal conditions are treated without surgery. The orthopaedic surgeons may prescribe a treatment that involves exercise, medication, rehabilitation or alternative therapies. Surgery is recommended only when the person does not respond to the non-surgical treatment.
